YOKAI : Tsuchinoko 🏮

Today's design is that little snake, the Tsushinoko!
He's a bit off compared to next designs because others are humanoids.
But this poor yokai deserves more attention 💕

YOKAI : Myoubu 🏮

Welcome to our first fox yokai!
Myoubu is mostly a white and celestial fox living around shrines.
Their alt name is Byakko (from what I read from my ressources :>)

YOKAI : Kirin🏮
〰️
I really love this one!
But I don't think I need to explain who kirin is, this yokai is pretty well known

YOKAI : Hainu🏮
〰️
Today's yokai is the hainu :>
Nothing crazy to be honest, it basically means "winged dog"
So I took a shiba inu !

YOKAI : Gumyouchou 🏮

First bird yokai!
This yokai has two head normally but I didn't know how I could add it
It's name means "interconnected lives bird"

YOKAI : Teratsutsuki🏮

Or also called "temple-pecker".
Teratsutsuki is the spirit of a 6th century man but in the form of a wood-pecker!

YOKAI : Tanuki🏮

Yaaaaay Tunuki bab
I gave him pants for some obvious reasons lmao
Often considered as the rival of kitsune, the tanuki, as statue, is a popular decoration.

YOKAI : Momiji🏮

The firt human yokai!
Would literally mean "maple leaves".
This is also a popular tale in the japanese noh theatre!
I really like her to be honest!

YOKAI : Oni🏮

Have our Oni girl!
The Oni is mostly an ogre or a demon. The the anatomy is clearly different xD
But I wanted to do a strong girl.

YOKAI : Hōsōgyo🏮

Welcome to shrimp baby!
Their name can possibly mean "red phoenix fish" so I wanted something elegant, however the actual yokai isn't that pretty.
I also had a big inspiration from Wadanohara!

YOKAI : Tennyo🏮

Say hi to the celestial woman!
This one is a little bit special in the style, unsure if everybody will like her but I liked these yokai with a lot of floating fabrics.

YOKAI : Otohime Gitsune🏮

Otohime Gitsune is the princess fox!
She can be a princess or even a goddess. She was first known as a voice in the wood answering villager's questions.

YOKAI : Kūko🏮
〰️
Kūko is the translation of void fox.
However he is a "good fox" and belongs to the highest ranks of kitsune society.
Normally teaching this rank makes them more human-like but it was already amoung my semi-yokai universe.

YOKAI : Kyūbi no Kitsune🏮

After the Tanuki, here's the Kitsune!
And it's Kyūbi, the nine-tail oneYes an other fox but sadly it was the best order I could have on my list, with what I wanted.
The Kitsune can be either good or malicious.

YOKAI : Shinigami🏮

Shinigami, aka death spirit!
Most sees him as a "god of death" but it's also registered as a Yokai.
This yokai mostly possess and kills living beings.

YOKAI : Yamata no Orochi🏮

Well, orochi is more a myth than a yokai but their legend is very well known.
This is the infamous eight headed dragon!
To be honest it looks pretty close to the Yokai watch version...

YOKAI : Koma Inu🏮

The guardian dog!
They look more like a lion to me but that's fineThey're usually 2 to keep sacred sites. They are noble, even holy.

YOKAI : Tengubi🏮

The tengu fire!
Few tengus has wings and bird face.
The tengubi is a fireballs that descends from mountains to rivers, but the fire often announce disaster or illness. I thought this tengu could be the one creating tengubis.

YOKAI : Seiryū🏮

Seiryū the azure dragon!
His appearence is depending on constellations but it was very complicated to deal with so I just took the dragon aspect.
I really love Seiryu! Like really!
I almost thought about keeping them but I can't.

YOKAI : Yuki Onna🏮

The woman who died in the snow!
I made her innocent but you should take care about her...

YOKAI : Ushirogami🏮
〰️
That yokai likes to spook people!
They sometimes have one single eye but I had some refs with two.

YOKAI : Kotobuki🏮

Okay, this one was hard.
This yokai is a chimera of several animals. All the animal of the Asian zodiac.
I had to change some stuff and couldn't do it entirely.

YOKAI : Ushi no koku mairi🏮

This yokai its a dark magic spell during the hour of the ox. We could translate the name by "shrine visit at the hour of the ox.

Welcome to kappa boy!
This yokai is a small scoundrel!
They actually love to drown people or animals .
But this kappa boy is too cool for that

YOKAI : Nekomata🏮

I won't lie, all designs with green were complicated.
I've made Nekomata with a friend when it was Halloween or almost Halloween. So we had the zombie idea.
The Nekomata is a cat yokai with the tail split in two.

YOKAI : Kasha🏮
〰️This little scoundrel likes to steal corpse out of coffins, they sometimes are employed as servant of the hell.
Kasha is the only one I've redesigned from A to Z. The original sketch was really ... meh
The colouring was a pain again.

YOKAI : Tengu🏮

Here's the Tengu bab
Green again, was a pAin!!
The Tengu can be translatedby "heavenly dog" but are mostly represented by an avian creature (like my Tengubi design).

YOKAI : Kawauso🏮

Kawauso is the river otter.
They are a shy but playful yokai. And they often trick humans but they aren't dangerous.
I like that bby

YOKAI : Yūrei🏮
〰️
Basically, Yūrei is a ghost.
The ghost who had lots of sadness and pain from their life and are stuck on the earth.
This yokai is pretty well known too, I had to add her.

YOKAI : Kasa-Obake🏮
〰️
Here's the last one for this year. The Huevember is over!
We have the Kasa-Obake! This yokai has many names thought but it mentioned Kasa-Obake on my source :3
